A few days ago, a friend asked me via msn messenger if I knew John Titor. When I told him I didn’t, he sent me the link of the John Titor Times website. And once I started looking thru the site more, I had myself engaged, couldn’t stop but kept reading for hours about John Titor and the messages that he posted on forums and message boards.

- A Time Traveler ? -
Starting on Nov 2000, someone calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum claiming that he was a time traveler from the year of 2036. As time passed, more and more people started questioning him about the reason he was here, the science of time travel, the world in 2036, and his thoughts about our time. And in Mar 2001, John Titor said he needed to return to 2036. From then on, he was never heard from again.
- Predictions –
In his posts, John Titor made a number of predictions about events as early as 2004, including WWIII, the last Olympic Game (the hot topic now 
John Titor said that the last Olympic Game took place in 2004 and would resume in 2040. Despite of all the Tibet-Olympic issues going on, I believe the 2008 Olympic Game in Beijing will be held successfully), and the devastated environment due to a nuclear attack. While many of these predictions have failed to come true (thanks God!), there are still many people believe in John Titor and think he is a genuine time traveler.
The story has been retold on many websites, in a book, in a play, as well as in radio shows occasionally.
- A Hoax ? –
Despite my friend sent me the link of John Titor Times, I explored this topic of John Titor first via Wikipedia (I love Wiki, best place to start a research). Even though much in Wikipedia has disproved John Titor’s predictions, as well as his claims regarding the technology of the time travel machine, I didn’t stop there, but kept on reading more about John Titor and his postings in other sites online.

My conclusion
The story is definitely an excellent motion picture material (I can picture Nick Cage as John Titor 
). Yet, put aside the question of whether John Titor is a real time traveler or a hoax, this whole thing is a very entertaining and thought provoking one. Don’t be too serious and grasping on proving or disproving John Titor’s claims. Go ahead and treat it as a sci fi, then you would soon find it is actually a good food for thought, inspiring us to rethink some of the values, ideas, concepts and faiths that we hold today.

FAKE FAKE FAKE… born in 1998… couldn’t have traveled to the future, then back again…. DUH!
If you actually read it he never travelled forward in time. He came back from 2036 to 1975 then forward to 1998 where he met his family and his then 3 year old self.
OK, many of his predictions did come true. I believe he told us he came from a worldline 2.5% divergence from our own. He said there was a Lincoln-like president in 2004 probably Kerry, and a HE/SHE president in 2008, probably Hillary and her husband.
We have our lincoln-like president in 2008 Obama, and may see a delay in the civil war until things get worse.

I thing that John Titor is really traveled through time, but is probably comes from a slightly different out come admit the possibilities of the space time continuem spectrum. I think that with his visit and information time is already changing and discoveries may be made earlier then predicted or may change entirely.

I heard there are several places you can get the blueprints of his machine. I am not sure the opening hours, and I don’t have the number to call as well. But you can try to check out the one in Detroit downtown. I heard that it’s near a BMW showroom
