so they decided to lock up the PC room for there are too many important docs n such in the room. well, while a bit disappointed, i totally understand, plus i didnt expect there would be unlimited internet access in hopeland in the first place. but since i wanna share my experience with everyone so much, i decided to go to Obihiro (帯広 － a city 30mins bus ride away from the farm) n have my blog updated 😀 n this internet cafe i found is so nice! private room, small but clean, 24 hours, with free drinks, shelves n shelves of comic books, n most important – fast connection.
it has come to the end of my first farm stay – 3 weeks in hopeland – n i will head to furano (富良野）on monday. for the past 2 wks, my work has been almost all about weeding… just keep weeding, weeding, weeding 😛 now is the season for weeding u c. so even when i worked in the pig farm a few days ago, my work was weeding too! weeded the pig farm! at first, i didnt like weeding much, thought its quite dull, but dunno why, somehow i have just learned to enjoy this work. even though it could be quite tiring, its easy work, a good time to sink into the nature n be alone. even though i always work with other workers, the fields r so huge! so if i just want some quiet time, i can have it without problem. n when i feel like to pick up a chat w someone, i can often find someone free to chat with as well 😉
weeding in a beet field, since the beets r quite tall, it can get very dirty, esp after a rainy day. so we put on these leg covers, but still, we got all wet n soiled after weeding in the field for several hours
japanese is all about the look. they only sell those with typical triangular shape. so they asked me to cut away all those “strange looking” ones. but these r usually the big n sweet ones. well, the farm will make strawberry jam with these, so no waste at least
also planted some strawberries – some non-weeding work 🙂
i like to work in the strawberry farm for they have some very good snacks during the 10am break n the 3pm break, n thats hopeland’s soft ice cream (made with milk fresh from hopeland’s cows) n my dirty hand 😛
